ICC World Council on 11th of June 2024 – ICC HQ Paris, France

ICC Syria represented by Mr. Khalil Sara –Secretary General, and Ms. Mouna Kiwan the Administrative Consultant and International Affairs Coordinator and Mr. Naji Chaoui voted online on the GA decisions.

ICC has announced the election of five new members to its Executive Board bringing a diverse range of experience to ICC’s work programme under the leadership of newly elected Chair Philippe Varin.

Mandated to serve a three-year term, effective 11 June 2024, the new members of the Board are:

• Jitka Haubova, Member of the board and Chief Operations Officer at Komercni banka (Czech Republic)
• Marcelo Elizondo, President, ICC Argentina (Argentina)
• Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Founder and Owner of the Saham Group (Morocco),
• Mark Nowitz, Leading Business figure and Director, Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (South Africa),
• Zhang Xiaolun, Chair, China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH) (China).

Marienne Coutinho, Partner KPMG (Brazil) has also been confirmed to serve a second term as a member of the ICC Executive Board.

The Executive Board is responsible for developing and implementing ICC’s strategy, policy and programme of action as well as for overseeing ICC’s financial affairs.

The ICC World Council also ratified the election of Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu Chair of ICC Türkiye and President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), as Chair of the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF).
