Under the auspices of Mr. Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, President of Tunisia, the second session of the 'Mediterranean Dialogue' was held in Hammamat, Tunisia, on May 25th – 26th , 2010. The session was held under the theme 'Towards a common vision for the Mediterranean region: Strategy and projects'
The session was organized in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Mediterranean world (IPEMed), Institut Arabe des Chefs d'entreprise (IACE), and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).
Dr. Abdul Rahman Attar, President of the International Chamber of Commerce -Syria (ICC-Syria), participated in the session, which brought together a number of politicians, economy decision makers, and representatives of big regional companies in the Mediterranean region.
The session's talks were concentrated on analyzing the international working groups to achieve a common diagnosis, and make recommendations for operating which interest policy makers in the region.
'Mediterranean Dialogue' was focused mainly on three principles: aiming at creating foundations, contributing in bringing the shores of the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe closer, and finally, creating projects to achieve sustainable development.
