General Assembly 2020

 

On Wednesday 23rd of September 2020, at 12:30 pm, International Chamber of Commerce Syria (ICC Syria), held its General Assembly 2020 at Sheraton Damascus Hotel.

 

United Insurance Company (UIC) exclusively sponsored ICC Syria General Assembly 2020.

 

The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection attended the meeting. 

 

The General Assembly opened its work, presided by Mr. Naji Chaoui, Chair of the Committee’s Board / Chair of the ordinary General Assembly.

 

Mr. Marwan Affaki Chair of the United Insurance Company (UIC), focused during his speech, on the importance of the reactivation of the Insurance Committee, Nationally and Internationally. 

 

2019 Annual Report was overviewed, in addition to TIR activities.

 

ICC Syria board member, Mr. Ahmad Haddad, presented the rules of international arbitration.

 

ICC Syria board member, Mr. Karam Bchara, presented the activities of Banking Committee.

 

Mr. Shawki Faitrouni, the Executive Manager (TIR Department) presented TIR activities in Syria.

 

Ms. Mouna Kiwan, ICC Syria Events and Academies Coordinator provided an overview of the ICC Academy https://icc.academy/ , which provides international accredited courses in the fields of trade finance, banking and institutional work.       

  

In addition to information about ICC and ICC Syria Committees such as: Arbitration Committee, Banking Committee, Intellectual Property Committee and Commercial Law and Practices Committee, and Ms. Kiwan mentioned that ICC Syria starts giving the INCOTERMS® 2020 since the official lunching of the amendment terms in the beginning of 2020.

 

During the Assembly, GA Members approved the accounts of 2019.
